Tahitian: These are the dark group of South Sea cultured pearls
derived from large, black-lipped pearl oysters which live in the

dark green. Because of these characteristics, Tahitian pearls come
in a variety of colours like black, green, gray, and bronze.
South Sea: South Sea cultured pearls may be easily distinguished
from Akoya pearls by their larger size, usually ranging from 9 mm to
16 mm. Therefore, they are understandably the most prized of the

from the South-East Asia region.
Mabe: The mabé pearl oyster is found mainly in the tropical seas
of South-East Asia and in the Japanese islands around Okinawa. The
mabé oyster has a beautiful, rainbow-coloured iridescence that
ranges from light pink through dark rose to slightly bluish shades,
often with a metallic lustre. These mabé cultured pearls are
half-rounds (with flat back), which has grown against the inside
shell of the oyster.
